I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody who is looking for a good laugh in the movies.
The trailer that this movie provided was so misleading. If you’ve seen the trailer first, it would have been so appealing for you to watch. But as you see the film, then you would definitely just get disappointed.
We have a marvelous cast for this film. Eddie Murphy, Thandie Newton, Cuba Gooding Jr., and all their talent went to waste.
The plot for this story? 800-lb female Murphy squashing little skinny male Murphy, everytime the 800-lb female Murphy has a chance, who falls for beautiful Newton and fights for his love towards the end. That’s just about it. No whatsoever. No nada.
Even the attempted comedy was so crude. It was not funny, a bit offensive and undeniably gross. It was also so juvenile and vulgar. A total loss of money if you ever decide to watch it.
Halfway through the film, I was so bored and disappointed already that I was half-tempted to walk away from it except that I don’t want to be rude so I finished the whole film, hoping against hope that somehow the film would redeem itself towards the end. I was still greatly disappointed.
Their tag line is true though and it had me asking it after the whole ordeal. “Have you ever made a big mistake?” The answer? Yep. A very big mistake of watching it and trying to enjoy anything out of it to no avail.
